Winford Ivey Named Stitch Central Cougar of the Week

Winford Ivey was chosen as Columbus State University’s Stitch Central Cougar of the Week for the week ending on January 8.
Ivey had a solid week for the Cougar basketball team as he averaged 11.5 points in two games. On Tuesday (1/4), Ivey scored eight second half points to help CSU erase a 12-point deficit late in the second half as the Cougars defeated Georgia College 56-51. The junior was a key piece of a 14-0 run scoring five points that gave CSU the lead with two minutes remaining in the game.
On Saturday (1/7), Ivey tied a season high scoring 15 points against USC Aiken. The Columbus native went 5-for-13 from the field, dished out three assists and grabbed three steals.
For the season, Ivey is sixth in the Peach Belt Conference in assists (57) and 11th in steals (21)
