Taylor Turner was chosen as Columbus State University’s Stitch Central Cougar of the Week for the week ending on April 15.

Turner was outstanding in the circle for the Columbus State softball team starting three games. In her first start of the week, the freshman tossed her first collegiate no-hitter against West Georgia as CSU defeated UWG 8-0. Against UNC Pembroke, she allowed two hits in three innings pitched as she came on in relief. Turner struck out two batters in the effort.

On Sunday, the freshman started yet another crucial game against Francis Marion and did not disappoint. She threw a complete game allowing one run as the Lady Cougars complete the two-game sweep of the Lady Patriots winning the game 3-1.

For the week, she threw 15 innings allowing just one run. She also was 4-for-16 at the plate.

Once again, congratulations to Taylor Turner, this week’s Stitch Central Cougar of the Week.
