Justin Grice was chosen as Columbus State University’s Stitch Central Cougar of the Week for the week ending on October 16.
Grice was named the Peach Belt Conference men’s golfer of the week after having his best tournament in his collegiate career as he won the Indian Bayou Classic hosted by North Alabama. He won the event by virtue of a sudden death playoff with Saint Leo's Nick Brothers. In brutal conditions, the senior ended the two-round event with a four-under par 140 mark. The South Africa native was clutch as he birded seven out of the last eight holes including birding both playoff holes. Grice shot a second round score of four-under 68 which was his best round of his collegiate career.
His second round score of 68 is one of seven fired in the league this season and he has jumped into sixth in the PBC with a 74.8 stroke average.
The Cougars will be hitting the links next Monday, October 24 as they will be participating in the Rollins College Invitational in Orlando, FL.
Once again, congratulations to Justin Grice, this week’s Stitch Central Cougar of the Week
