Jared Sandler, ATC, M.Ed., is entering his third year as head athletic trainer and ninth overall at Columbus State University in 2013-2014. In the previous six years, Sandler was the top assistant athletic trainer and prior to that a graduate assistant at CSU.
Originally from Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, Sandler received a master's degree in education at CSU in May 2007. He received his undergraduate degree from the University of South Florida in May of 2005 with a bachelor's degree in athletic training.
Sandler has up kept CSU’s excellence sports medicine coverage in his first two years as head athletic trainer. He has continued and grown the relationship between CSU and Hughston Clinic, one of the elite orthopedics and sports medicine facilities in the nation.
Along with his staff, Sandler and the Cougar sports medicine office were named the 2011-2012 Peach Belt Conference Training Staff of the Year. He was also apart of the 2010-2011 PBC Training Staff of the Year.
In 2013, Sandler will take on a new task working with the Lady Cougar volleyball team as the main sports medicine provider.
Sandler was also named the Director of Summer Camps for CSU athletics in the spring of 2011. In this role, Sandler is in charge of all athletic camps on CSU’s campus.
In his eight years at CSU, Sandler has provided coverage for all varsity sports. Along with his responsibilities to school and athletic training Jared is an active member in a wide array of professional organizations including: National Athletic Trainers' Association (NATA), Georgia Athletic Trainers' Association (GATA), Southeast Athletic Trainers' Association (SEATA), Professional Football Athletic Trainers' Society (PFATS), and Professional Baseball Athletic Trainers' Society (PBATS).
Sandler resides in Phenix City, AL with his wife Tamara. The couple welcomed their first child, Coltyn Tyler, into the world on April 30, 2013. Sandler enjoys hunting, fishing and spending time with his family and his dog Dixie.
