AUGUSTA, Ga. – Three Columbus State University baseball players were named to the Peach Belt Conference All-Academic Team, announced by the league on Tuesday.

Lake Hart,
Caleb Kutsche and
Jarrod Little were each recognized by the conference as part of the 51-member team.

Hart and Little are first-time selections, while Kutsche is on the All-Academic Team for the third consecutive season.

The team is part of a season-long program recognizing the outstanding accomplishments of PBC student-athletes in the classroom as well as on the field. To be eligible for the All-Academic team, a student-athlete must 1) participate in at least half of his/her team's events and be either a starter or significant contributor; 2) achieved a 3.30 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) and 3) completed at least one full academic year at his or her current institution and has reached sophomore athletic eligibility. The Peach Belt Conference Sports Information Directors oversee the program.

Columbus State is in its final preparations before the start of postseason play at the PBC Tournament. The Cougars are the fourth seed and will take on fifth-seeded UNC Pembroke in the opening round at 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday, May 10. The tournament is being held at Francis Marion in Florence, S.C.
