Columbus State Baseball Volunteers for House of Heroes

Most Saturdays you can find the Columbus State baseball team at Ragsdale Field preparing for the upcoming season.  But this past Saturday was different, it was a day for the Cougars to 'give back'.  The CSU players and coaches volunteered for the local organization called House of Heroes.

House of Heroes is a nonprofit organization serving our nation's military and public safety veterans, and their spouses, who are disabled, living on a fixed income, facing other physical and/or financial challenges.  Minor repairs and improvements are made to the homes of veterans and their spouses-at no cost to the veteran.

The entire Cougar baseball team and coaching staff gladly volunteered their services to a local veteran by helping him with yard work and general clean-up that he can no longer do by himself. There was also a closing ceremony with the CSU team present to give honor to the veteran for his hard work and commitment in behalf of our country. The veteran was presented with an American Flag that was flown over the U.S. Capitol. It was a very proud moment for all.
