Eatonton, GA – The Columbus State University men's golf team shot a third round score of 296 to finish the Bobcat Inviational in 12th place. The event took place at the Golf Club at Cuscowilla.
Barry won the event firing an 833 in three rounds. Nova Southeastern (843), UNC Pembroke (846), Lynn (849) and Armstrong Atlantic State University (851) rounded out the top five.
Daniel Young of Lynn took home individual honors shooting an eight-under 202.
For Columbus State, Justin Grice grabbed his fourth top-10 finish of the season shooting an even-par 70 on the day. For the tournament, Grice was two-under par (208) and finished in a tie for 10th place.
Rourke Van der Spuy had his best round of the tournament Tuesday as he shot a one-over par 71. The All-American finished the Bobcat Inviational 10-over par (210) and 47th overall.
Stephen Swanepoel struggled a bit in round three shooting a five-over par 75 to finish the tournament with a four-over par 214. The senior finished just outside of the top 20 in 23rd place.
The final team scorer for CSU was Steven Paine, who shot a 10-over par (80) to complete play in 74th place. Overall, Paine had a three-round score of 228 (+18).
Daniel Glidewell had the Cougars' drop score in the final round shooting a 14-over par 84. He finished play with a 22-over par (232) score.
Competing as an individual, Johan Swanepoel shot a nine-over par 79 Tuesday.
Columbus State will compete in its final regular season tournament of the season next week playing in the Bearcat Invitational. Play will begin on Monday, March 26.
