Columbus State Men's Track and Field Takes Part in Tiger Track Classic

Auburn, AL – The Columbus State University men's track and field team competed in two separate meets this past weekend with the runners competing in the Tiger Track Classic and the field athletes at the Jacksonville Gem of the Hills Meet.
In Auburn, the 4x100-meter relay team was at it again breaking the school record in the event. The quartet of Kris Maragh, Joshua Tolbert, Gerald Chichester and Jeremy Williams crossed the line in 41.58 seconds for the record. The squad finished in eighth place.
Maragh also broke a school record in the 100-meter dash. He ran the event in 10.85 seconds and was the highest NCAA Division II finisher in the field.
In the 200-meter dash, Marcus Bilbrew crossed the line in 22.96 seconds, which is a new season best time.
Andy Henderson broke a personal record in the 3000-meter run crossing the line in 8:52.01 while John Neill finished right ahead of him with a season best time of 8:47.99.
In Jacksonville, Douglas Lynch won the javelin throw with a distance of 46.5 meters.
Peter Blickhahn set a new personal best distance in the discus throw tossing it 38.08 meters.
Columbus State will take a week off before competing in the Auburn Invitational. The meet will take place April 20 and 21.
