Meshack Koyiaki Named Peach Belt Conference Runner of the Week
AUGUSTA - Meshack Koyiaki
garnered his third Peach Belt Conference Runner of the Week award
announced Monday afternoon by the conference
office.
Koyiaki had arguably his best
showing of the season winning one of the biggest races of the year at the
Greater Louisville Invitational on Saturday. The senior
covered the 8k course in 23:20, his fastest time of the season, and
won in a sprint at the line over runners from Western Kentucky and
USC Upstate. Ninety-seven teams and over 300 runners, many ranked
in the top 25, ran the meet.
Koyiaki has won all three of
his meets this season and seven total meets in his two-year stint
at CSU. He has won the award every week in which he ran
this season.
