Andy Henderson Selected to the Peach Belt Conference All-Academic Team
AUGUSTA, GA -- The Peach Belt Conference men's cross country All-Academic team was announced by the conference office.
Andy Henderson was the only Columbus State runner to make the squad. Henderson has a 3.48 GPA and is majoring in biology. His best 8K time was at the Greater Louisville Cross Country Classic when he posted a time of 25:41. In the Georgia Southwestern Remembrance Run, Henderson helped the Cougars come in first place with a season high finish of sixth. The sophomore has competed in every meet this season for the Cougars, helping them to a national ranking of 19th.
The team is part of a season-long program recognizing the outstanding accomplishments of PBC student-athletes in the classroom as well as on the field. To be eligible for the All-Academic team, a student-athlete must 1) participate in at least half of his/her team's events and be either a starter or significant contributor; 2) achieved a 3.30 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) and 3) completed at least one full academic year at his or her current institution. The Peach Belt Conference Sports Information Directors oversee and select the teams.
