Columbus State Rifle Notches Victory Over University of Tennessee at Martin
Martin, TN – The Columbus State rifle team won its first head-to-head matchup of the season defeating the University of Tennessee at Martin 4597 to 4541 Sunday afternoon at the UT Martin Rifle Range.
Leading the way for the Cougars was Philip Huckaby who fired a total score of 1162 closely followed by April Dunn with an 1161. Huckaby led the way in the smallbore with a 580 while Dunn was the team leader with a 589 in the air rifle competition.
Jonathan Hall had the third highest overall score for Columbus State posting an 1156 (586 air, 570 smallbore). He was followed by David Hall with an 1118 (574 air, 544 smallbore) and Courtney Duncan's 1110 (568 air, 542 smallbore).
The rifle team has a break in the schedule and will return to the range on Nov. 6 when it hosts the University of Alaska at the Fort Benning Marksmanship Unit. The match is schedule to start at 9:00 a.m.
