Columbus State Wins NCAA Sectionals

CHARLESTON, SC- The Columbus State rifle team wrapped up day two of the NCAA Rifle Sectionals in Charleston, South Carolina Sunday afternoon competing in the smallbore portion of the event. Similar to the air rifle competition, the Cougars won the event with a team score of 2274.

CSU was led by Phillip Huckaby and April Dunn who both shot 576, which was also the best in the event. Juli Yoder finished in fifth place overall and third for the Cougars with a score of 563. Courtney Duncan rounded out the team scoring for Columbus State posting a 559 which was good enough for sixth place. Jennifer Rodgers also shot in the event posting a 563 mark, but was not a designated shooter for CSU.

Columbus State won the two-day event in Charleston but fell just shy of a NCAA National Championship invite. The National Championship will be hosted by Columbus State University on March 10th and 11th.
