Columbus State Rifle Participates in the Gamecock Invitational

Jacksonville, AL – The Columbus State University rifle team participated in their second meet in as many days as they competed in the Gamecock Invitational hosted by Jacksonville State. The Cougars shot an aggregate score of 4558 in Sunday's event.
April Dunn led the Cougars in scoring once again as she tallied 1164 points. The All-American shot a 585 in air rifle. She followed that up with a score of 579 in smallbore which was a new season high for the junior.
Abigail Casey also had a season best day in Jacksonville as the sophomore posted a 585 mark in the air rifle portion of the event. That score is a new season high for Casey. In smallbore, she tallied 558 points.
Courtney Duncan had a very good day for the Cougars. Duncan shot a 572 in air rifle and a 557 in smallbore.
Juli Yoder was the final team scorer for Columbus State. Yoder had an aggregate score of 1122. The junior posted scores of 565 and 557 in the air rifle and smallbore events, respectively.
Columbus State will have to wait until the new year to shoot in a meet again as the Cougars will go back down to Jacksonville, AL to compete against Jacksonville State and Tennessee-Martin on January 14.
