Columbus State Rifle Defeats North Georgia in Final Meet of Season

Dahlonega, GA – The Columbus State rifle team shot an aggregate score of 4534 in the final meet of the season to defeat in-state rival North Georgia in a dual match Saturday morning in Dahlonega, GA. 

Like she has done all season long, All-American April Dunn led CSU as she shot an aggregate score of 1168. Dunn began the day shooting a 577 in smallbore and then shot yet another outstanding air rifle round tallying 591 points. It was the second consecutive meet than the junior has recorded a score of at least 590 in air rifle. 

Abigail Casey was second on the team in both the smallbore and air rifle events. Casey shot a 566 in smallbore and a 580 in air rifle. 

Courtney Duncan had a rough day overall as she registered an aggregate score of 1116. She shot her 566, which was her second lowest score of the season in air rifle and her 550 in smallbore completed her score. 

Juli Yoder was the final shooter for Columbus State as she shot the team's third highest smallbore round with a score of 554. She ended the meet by shooting a 550 in air rifle. 

Columbus State will now wait and see if they qualify for an NCAA Sectional event.
