CSU Basketball to Host Coaches Clinic

Columbus -- The men's and women's basketball programs at Columbus State University will host a basketball coaching clinic for area coaches on August 5 and 6 at the Lumpkin Center on the CSU campus. The clinic features top-notch instruction from a number of collegiate coaches. (Download Clinic Schedule)

Collegiate coaches participating will be Pershin Williams (Assistant Men's Coach, Georgia Southern University), Corey Williams (Assistant Men's Coach, Florida State University, NBA Champion as player), Joe Ciampi (Former Head Women's Coach, Auburn University), Sonny Smith (Former Head Men's Coach, Auburn University), Dip Metress (Head Men's Coach, Augusta State University), Mike Morris (Head Women's Coach, Samford University) and Mack McCarthy (Former Head Men's Coach, ECU, VCU and UTC). Also, current Columbus State head coaches Jonathan Norton (women) and Robert Moore (men) will also speak at the event.

The local huddle of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes will provide a free dinner Friday evening and CSU basketball will provide a free lunch on Saturday for all those attending.

At the dinner on Friday, FCA will provide door prices and there will be a scouting roundtable.

Coaches are asked to call Jonathan Norton at 706-331-6611 or email him at norton_jonathan@columbusstate.edu to inform him of the number of coaches planning to attend from your staff. The clinic costs $40, which includes a breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Checks can be made payable to CSU Athletic Fund and can be sent to Columbus State University, 4225 University Ave, Columbus, GA 31909.
