Pace, FL – Columbus State University junior golfer Kimesha Anthony shot a first round score of three-over par 75 Sunday morning in the first round of the NCAA South Super Region. The regional is being held at the Stonebrook Golf Club in Pace, Florida.

With her 75, Anthony is currently tied for 10th place. The top-three teams and the top-three individuals not with a qualifying team will advance to the National Championship that will be held later this month.

The junior was one of the first golfers to tee off this morning and it didn't take her long to get into the red numbers as she birded hole number four to go one-under par. However, from there Anthony struggled to close out the front nine bogeying holes 5 and nine and tallying a double bogey on hole 7 to wrap-up the first half of the course three-over par.

Coming back into the clubhouse, St. George's, Antigua native shot a bogey free even-par 36 score on the back nine.

Only Abbey Gittings of Nova Southeastern was under-par after the first round as she fired a three-under 69.

Florida Southern is the team leading after the first 18 holes shooting a 14-over par 302. Lynn (303), Barry (305), Saint Leo (308) and Nova Southeaster (308) round out the top-five.

Currently, Anthony is tied for sixth with players not on a qualifying team if the tournament ended today.

The second round of the NCAA South Super Region will resume play tomorrow morning at 8:30 a.m. Anthony will tee off eight minutes later at 8:38.
