Columbus State Women’s Soccer Back in Top 25
Columbus – The Columbus State women's soccer team re-entered the National Soccer Coaches Association of America Division II Top 25 poll this week coming in at No. 20. It is the first time the Lady Cougars are ranked in the poll since the September 27 poll when they were slotted at No. 23.
Grand Valley State (18-0-2) moved up into the top spot this week followed by California (PA) (18-0-2), Bridgeport (16-0-1), Central Missouri (19-1-1) and Seattle Pacific (16-2) in the Top 5. Bridgeport slid from the No. 1 spot after falling in penalty kicks in their conference tournament last week.
Armstrong Atlantic State University (No. 7) and North Georgia (No. 25) are the other two schools from the Peach Belt Conference that are represented in the poll.
The Lady Cougars will take on Lees-McRae on Friday, November 11 at 6:00 p.m. in the First Round of the NCAA Division II Women's Soccer Tournament. The match will be played at Lenoir-Rhyne with the winner of Friday night's contest taking on L-R Sunday afternoon.
