Augusta – Paola Cigui has been named the Peach Belt Conference Women's Tennis Player of the Week announced by the league's office Monday afternoon.

Cigui is the first Lady Cougar to be honored by the conference this season as CSU has started the year 11-0 and 2-0 inside the PBC.

Individually, Cigui improved to 10-0 at the top singles position for the Lady Cougars winning four matches this past week. She defeated regionally ranked Ali Evers 6-2, 6-0 to begin the week and also took down 40th ranked Emily Singleton of Saint Leo 6-1, 6-4.

With her partner Madeline Johnson, Cigui won all four of her matches at second doubles dropping just 11 games.

For the season, Cigui is the only player in the PBC to have double-digit singles wins without a loss and has dropped only one set all year.

Cigui and the seventh ranked Lady Cougars will return to the court Thursday, March 15 against Tuskegee. The match will begin at 3:00 p.m. in Tuskegee, AL.
