No. 7 Lady Cougars Bounce Back, Defeat No. 24 Florida Tech 7-2

Americus – After suffering its first loss of the season, the seventh ranked Columbus State University women's tennis team bounced back Saturday afternoon to defeat 24th ranked Florida Tech 7-2. The neutral site match took place at the Susan K. Smith Tennis Complex in Americus, GA.
In doubles action, the Lady Cougars (20-1) took the opening match as Paola Cigui and Milica Tomic defeated the 12th ranked sister duo of Katarina Huba and Kristina Huba 8-2. Florida Tech (15-6) got on the board at second doubles when Abigail Greif and Stephanie Dohner took down Carolin Weikard and Olivera Jokic 8-4. In the deciding doubles match, Andrea Redrado and Renata Paiva won their match over Abbey Keister and Monica Price 8-4.
Cigui continued her impressive season at first singles as she defeated Kristina Huba 6-3, 6-1. Tomic had a tough draw at second singles as 19th ranked Katarina Huba took down the Lady Cougar in three sets 1-6, 6-4, 6-1. Forty-ninth ranked Weikard got back in the grove at third doubles defeating Price 4-6, 6-1, 6-1. Jokic bounced back from her first loss of the season in singles action easily defeating Greif 6-2, 7-5.
Redrado had no problem at fifth singles winning her match 6-0, 6-1 over Dohner. Freshman Sandra Jung won the final match of the afternoon over Keister 6-2, 6-2.
