th-ranked Columbus State University women's basketball team rolled over Albany State getting a 71-47 victory on Tuesday night. The game was played at the HPER Gymnasium in Albany, Ga.
Michelle Mitchell led all scorers with 20 points, 10 of which she picked up in a dominant first quarter.
Brea Walker knocked down a trio of three-pointers to finish with nine. Freshman
Tatiana Wayne added nine of her own, while
Gabby Williams tossed in eight.
Britteny Tatum finished with seven to go with five from
Ashley Johnson,
Erin Morrow and
Eryn Cochran.
CSU raced out to a 20-7 edge after the opening quarter of play. The lead grew to 20 (38-18) at the half and the Lady Cougars pulled away in the final two quarters of play for the victory.

Columbus State will now have a nine-day break before opening up Peach Belt Conference play on Thursday, Dec. 17 against UNC Pembroke. Tipoff from the Lumpkin Center is scheduled for 5:30 p.m.
