Stephen WilliamsMILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – Wrapping up play at the 2015 Bobcat Classic, the Columbus State University volleyball team dropped a 3-0 (16-25, 16-25, 22-25) decision against Limestone on Saturday. The match was played in the Centennial Center at Georgia College.

Megan Frame was once again the kills leader for Columbus State (0-3), tallying seven over the three sets. Freshman
Maddie Harris had six kills on the afternoon, while
Payten Joy and
Malaisia Stallworth turned in four each.
Abby King had 22 assists for the Lady Cougars, while
Caytlin Merritt and
Sabrina Rodgers each finished in double figures in digs.

Midway through the match's opening set, the Lady Cougars put together five straight points to take their first lead at 15-14. However, Limestone closed the set on an 11-1 run to take the early advantage.

After digging an early hole in the second set, CSU rallied back and was able to bring a once six-point deficit down to just two at 16-14. Frame and the Lady Cougar defense keyed the comeback, with the junior teaming together with Harris and
Andrea Skipor for a pair of blocks.

It was another strong close to the set though for the Saints as LC registered nine of the final 11 points for a 2-0 lead.

The third set was the tightest of the match, with the Lady Cougars jumping out in front early. Frame and Joy had back-to-back kills to start the set leading to a 5-2 CSU lead. Columbus State held onto the lead until Limestone finally tied it at 15 apiece.

The teams exchanged a handful of points before Limestone ran off three straight to take a 19-17 lead. From there, the Saints would not relinquish the edge, finishing off CSU for the sweep.

Columbus State returns to the court on Tuesday night for a road match at Valdosta State. First serve is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
