MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – The Columbus State University women's volleyball team fell 3-0 (25-17, 25-21, 29-27) to Georgia College Tuesday in a Peach Belt Conference match. The action took place inside the Centennial Center in Milledgeville, Ga.

Junior
Zoemy Barreto Pereira had a great match for the Lady Cougars leading the team with 10 kills while hitting .360.
Megan Frame hit .261 with nine kills, three blocks and two service aces.
Malaisia Stallworth had five kills to go along with four blocks.

"We just didn't play well enough at all," said head coach
Casey Cornett. "We have to start executing well and that will begin this weekend versus USC Aiken."

Georgia College (16-8, 7-5 PBC) jumped all over the Lady Cougars racing out to a 10-3 lead to begin the first set. CSU pulled back within five at 13-7 following a kill from
Mary McCarty and an ace by Frame. The Bobcats were up 18-12 before running off three straight points to take a comfortable lead before taking the set 25-17.

Columbus State (14-10, 5-9) played better to begin the second set taking the first two points to go in front. The two sides would exchange points from there until GC took three straight to pull ahead 9-7. However, CSU battled back winning four of the next five rallies to jump in front 11-10. Seniors
Andrea Skipor, McCarty and Frame each had kills in the spurt, while the latter added another ace.

The two teams would continue battling as the score was tied at 18 late in the set. GC was able to win back-to-back points to go up 20-18 and CSU was never able to tie it again as the Bobcats took the set 25-21.

CSU started the third set hot racing out to a 5-1 lead thanks to strong play from Skipor and McCarty. Stallworth and
Abby King also teamed up for a block in the run. However, GC quickly rallied and eventually went up 11-9. Columbus State recovered though taking four straight points and five of the next six to take retake a 17-15 lead.

The match was back-and-forth from there as the two sides were neck and neck until the end. The Lady Cougars held a late lead of 23-22 and again at 26-25, but were unable to string together consecutive rallies to extend the match. GC won four of the final five points to take the set 29-27.

Columbus State will be back in action on Friday at 7 p.m. against USC Aiken inside the Lumpkin Center.
