Lady Cougars Set for Regular Season Finale

COLUMBUS – In the final game of the regular season, the Columbus State University women's basketball team will play host to Clayton State on Saturday. Tipoff is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. inside the Lumpkin Center.
 
Saturday is Senior Day for the Lady Cougars. Senior Day festivities will take place immediately following the game.

Columbus State (17-8, 15-6 PBC) used strong second and fourth quarters to down Flagler 60-54 on the road Wednesday night. Four Lady Cougars scored in double figures led by Tatiana Wayne's 14 points.

CSU trailed by a point entering the fourth quarter, but outscored the Lakers 24-12 over the final 10 minutes for a 70-59 win last month in Morrow. Machala Raymonville led all scorers with 26 points.
 
About Clayton State
 
Clayton State (14-13, 11-10) has won six of its last eight games, including an 84-55 win over Georgia Southwestern on Wednesday.
 
The Lakers will be either the No. 6 or No. 7 seed in next week's Peach Belt Conference Tournament.
 
Clayton State's strength in on the defensive end where it ranks second in the PBC in steals and third in points allowed.

Tatiana Wayne crossed the 500-point mark for the season on Wednesday night, marking the ninth time in program history a Lady Cougar has scored 500 points.
 
Machala Raymonville in 48 points away from 500 this season. The Lady Cougars have never had two 500-point scorers in the same season.
