VALDOSTA, Ga. – The Columbus State University women's tennis team kept its perfect record intact on Friday with an 8-1 victory over Valdosta State. The nonconference match was played in Valdosta, Ga.

The Lady Cougars are up to 7-0 on the season and starting a stretch of four matches in four days.

CSU got off and running with victories in two out of three doubles matches.
Marleen Tilgner and
Giorgia Vitale picked up an 8-3 win at second doubles, while Candace Paya and
Natalia Kattah Paz won by the same score at third.

Valdosta State (0-5) tallied its only win of the day at first doubles, with
Beatriz Lopez and
Noa Davico falling 8-6.

Columbus State then ran right through singles, winning all six matches in straight sets.

Third-ranked Lopez got back on track in the top singles position winning one of the Lady Cougars' two 6-0, 6-0 matches on the day. Tilgner won without losing a game as well at fourth singles.

Davico was a 7-5, 6-3 winner at second singles and No. 14 Paya followed suit 6-3, 6-1 at the third position.
Luise Sachs earned a 6-1, 6-2 win at fifth singles and Kattah Paz finished it off with a 6-3, 6-1 triumph at sixth.

Columbus State will stay in Valdosta and take on second-ranked Barry in a neutral site contest on Saturday. First serve is scheduled for 12 p.m.
