LUMBERTON, N.C. - The Columbus State University men's and women's cross country teams competed in the Peach Belt Conference Championship on Saturday in Lumberton, N.C.
The Lady Cougars totaled 111 points to take fourth place, one spot behind last year's third-place finish. Flagler (40) captured the title for the second consecutive year just ahead of North Georgia (49) and Augusta (79). UNC Pembroke (114) rounded out the women's top-five.Â
On the men's side, the Cougars finished fourth with a total of 104 points. Augusta (29) took the championship with Flagler (56) and UNC Pembroke (67) finishing second and third, respectively. Georgia College (123) grabbed a top-five team finish.Â
Tanzanie Brown continued her outstanding year finishing first for the Lady Cougars with teammateÂ
Alli Hay right behind. Brown finished the 5k in 19:34.4 to take 16
th while Hay crossed the line in 19:36.7 to finish in 18
th place.
Macey Voorhies had a time of 20:00.6 to take 27
th withÂ
Cynthia Lopez-Jordan grabbing 29
th place after running the course in 20:04.4.

Earning All-PBC honors for the third consecutive year, seniorÂ
Charles Asouzu was the top Cougar runner on Saturday. Asouzu ran the 8k in 26:13.5 to cross the line in 13
th.Â
John Scarborough completed the course in 26:58.0 to take 21
st with teammate
Matthew Moulton running nearly the same pace at 27:07.9 to grab a 23
rd place finish.Â
Wright Calhoun finished in 28
th with a time of 27:33.7.
Noah Churchwell was a few strides behind taking 31
st crossing the line in 27:43.8.
