Women's Basketball Heads to Florida

The Lady Cougars and West Florida tipoff at 1 p.m.

COLUMBUS - Before a two-week break, the Columbus State University women's basketball team will head to Pensacola, Fla. on Wednesday to face off against West Florida. Tipoff is scheduled for 1 p.m. inside the UWF Field House.

Last week was busy for the Lady Cougars as they went 2-1, including a 1-1 mark in the Valdosta State Thanksgiving Classic over the weekend. CSU took down Eckerd 60-57, but the Lady Blazers handed Columbus State its first loss on Saturday in its latest action.

"We didn't play our best ball last week, but we were able to grab a few results," added head coach Matt Houser. "Attention to the fine details are crucial and we need to sure up a few things."

"West Florida is a well-coached team and any time you play on the road is a challenge. We'll see how we respond."

Following Wednesday's contest, Columbus State will be off until Wednesday, Dec. 18 when Peach Belt Conference play begins. The Lady Cougars will open conference action on the road against USC Aiken.
