COLUMBUS - After a few days off, the Columbus State University women's basketball team will get back on the court on Wednesday, Jan. 29 against Georgia Southwestern. The Peach Belt Conference game is scheduled to begin at 5:30 p.m. inside the Storm Dome in Americus, Ga.
The Lady Cougars (12-4, 7-3 PBC) will be looking to get back on track following a 71-64 setback to Young Harris on Jan. 25. CSU was up 11 in the fourth before going cold allowing the Mountain Lions to capture the come from behind victory.
LeeAysia Williamson scored a season-high 29 in the outing going 5-for-9 from three.
Kaihla Carter grabbed a team-high eight rebounds and added nine points.
Overall, CSU struggled shooting posting a 39.7 percentage (23-for-58) and a 33.3 percent (6-for-18) mark on 3-point attempts.
"We didn't close out the game Saturday like we normally do," commented head coach
Matt Houser. "It's important to finish off games when you can, and we have been stressing that in practice this week."

disciplined on the defensive side of the floor.

Georgia Southwestern (6-10, 2-8 PBC) has gone 2-2 over its past four games dating back to Jan. 18. On Saturday, the Hurricanes knocked off UNC Pembroke 60-55 behind a strong 21-point, nine-rebound effort from Dominique Jeffery.Â

• CSU hasn't lost back-to-back games this season.
• The Lady Cougars are 10th in the latest D2SIDA Southeast Regional poll.
• With her five made 3-pointers on Saturday, LeeAysia Williamson now has three games in which she has made five or more from beyond the arc. The junior is the only player in the PBC to have nailed down seven threes in a game.
• Both Aujana Dawkins (54.9 percent) and Chrisalyn Boston (53.7 percent) rank inside the top-10 in the PBC in field goal percentage.
• Boston recorded two more blocks against Young Harris. She now leads the PBC in blocks with 33 and is just three away from cracking CSU's single-season top-10 list. The junior is fifth all-time in Lady Cougars history with 88 blocks, three away from tying Ashley Asouzu (2013-17).
