Lady Cougars to Play First Home Game of 2021

CSU will be looking for their second win of the year on Wednesday against Clayton State University.

COLUMBUS - After opening the season on the road, the Columbus State University women's basketball team is back at home to host Clayton State University on Wednesday, Jan. 13. Tipoff is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. inside the Frank G. Lumpkin Jr. Center.

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, there will be no fan attendance at Wednesday's game. Fans can listen to the game on 88.5 FM WCUG radio or watch it broadcasted on Cougar Sports TV.

• After ending regulation tied at 60, four points from senior Chrisalyn Boston and crucial 3-pointers from freshmen Amber Abusbeih and Emilia Tenbrock lifted CSU to the season-opening victory.
• Junior Jurnee Smith and Tenbrock led the Lady Cougars with 20 points each.
• Boston recorded her ninth career double-double with 13 points and a career-high 19 rebounds. Freshman Olonna Rawls also added 12 rebounds while chipping in eight points.
• Clayton State (1-1, 1-1 PBC) is in search of its second win of the shortened 2020-21 season.
• The Lakers grabbed their first win of the 2020-21 season on Wednesday, Jan. 6 against UNC Pembroke 82-58. Seniors\ Timi'a Swanson scored a game-high 21 points while fellow senior Praise Russell chipped in 13. Freshman Jadah Waite added 12.
• On Saturday, Clayton State fell 85-50 to Lander University. Audrey McElhaney and Jada Francois Lubin each scored 10 points and had four rebounds apiece. Kerry Watson added eight points, five assists and five steals.
