HUNTSVILLE, Ala. - The Columbus State University cross country teams participated in the UAH Invitational on Saturday at John Hunt Cross Country Park in Huntsville, Ala.
The field was deep, with more than 40 teams competing in both the men's and women's races. The Cougar men came in 27th place, while the women were 31st.Â
On the men's side, Blake Lewis (25:56.40, 184th) and Aidan Rush (25:58.30, 192nd) were CSU's top runners. Shanya Washington (19:29.60, 160th) and Kat Valencia (19:34.40, 167th) ran similar times to pace the Cougars.
Wingate University won the men's team title, while Cedarville University captured the women's crown.Â
Columbus State will now prepare for the 2022 Peach Belt Conference Championship. The meet will be on Saturday, Nov. 5 in Beech Island, S.C.Â
