COLUMBUS - The Columbus State University men's and women's basketball teams will tip-off the Peach Belt Conference home-game schedule against Lander University on Thursday, Dec. 15, with the women's starting at 1:30 p.m. and the men's following at 3:30 p.m. Both games will be played in the Frank G. Lumpkin, Jr. Center.

The Cougars and Lady Cougars began PBC play on Monday with Augusta. Both teams fell short against the Jaguars, but are looking to get back into the win-column after playing the Bearcats. 

About the Lady Bearcats:

• Posts a 2-5 record, currently on a two-game losing streak, falling to Tusculum and Limestone
• Have a 0-2 record on the road
• Beat Lincoln Memorial (57-45, Nov. 16) and Fayetteville State (54-49, Nov. 27)
• Records 58.3 points per game
• Quadaija Langley is the leading points scorer for LU, scoring 90 points and averaging 12.9 points per game

About the Bearcats:

• Posts a 6-2 record, currently on a one-game losing streak, falling to Fayetteville State 63-66
• Have a 0-1 record on the road, falling to Newberry 57-65 on Nov. 22
• Averages 87.4 points per game, scoring over 100 points three different times this season
• Jared Sherfield and Noah Dunn are the top-scorers for the Bearcats, averaging about 11 points per game and have tallied over 80 points this season so far
• Jaylon Pugh has made 17 three-pointers this season

About the Lady Cougars:

• Posts a 5-3 record and a 0-1 PBC record, currently on a two-game losing streak, falling to Tuskegee and Augusta
• Have a 3-0 record at home, beating Newberry, Montevallo and Anderson
• Averages 69.4 points per game
• Emilia Tenbrock averages 11.7 points per game while Amber Abusbeih and Olonna Rawls average over 10
• Letiya Reeves has scored in the double-digits the past three-games, tallying a game-high 19 vs. Tuskegee on Dec. 9

About the Cougars:

• Posts a 7-3 record, currently on a one-game losing streak, falling to Augusta 65-83
• Have a 0-1 record at home, losing to UNC Pembroke 72-75 on Nov. 19
• Averages 71.5 points per game
• Nelson Haskin is the reigning PBC Player of the Week, averaging 22 points and nine rebounds while shooting 79% from the field
• Haskin averages 12.3 points per game, Demierre Black 11.5 and Daniel Melvin 10.2
