MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. - The Columbus State University women's basketball team beat Georgia College 70-57 Saturday night inside the Centennial Center.
CSU improved to 16-10 (9-7 PBC), and GC dropped to 8-17 (5-11 PBC).
Columbus State jumped to a quick 25-10 lead in the first quarter over the Bobcats and held it throughout the entirety of the game. Georgia College didn't give up, however, as the Bobcats outscored the Lady Cougars 18-10 in the fourth quarter.
Four Lady Cougars' scored in the double-digits with
Jurnee Smith leading the team with 21 points, 10 rebounds and two steals.
Imani Arnold tallied 19 points and four steals, while
Chrisalyn Boston recorded 16 and grabbed 13 rebounds.
Amber Abusbeih added 12 points while also making four steals.
With the win, the Lady Cougars will host the first round of the 2022 Peach Belt Conference Tournament on Wednesday, March 2 at 5:30 p.m. in the Frank G. Lumpkin Jr. Center.
