ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. - The Columbus State University women's basketball team lost a tight 70-67 game to Flagler College Saturday afternoon inside the Flagler Gymnasium & Clark Family Court.
The Lady Cougars are now 12-10 (5-7 PBC), while the Saints improved to 11-11 (5-7 PBC).
Columbus State was leading Flagler 51-48 going into the fourth quarter before the Saints outscored the Lady Cougars 22-14. The two teams were neck-and-neck in the final minutes of play, with the teams being tied at 62 with 3:30 remaining. From there, CSU couldn't find a way to go ahead, allowing FC to pull out the victory.
Olonna Rawls and Amber Abusbeih both scored 14 points and collected two assists. Chrisalyn Boston tallied a season-high 18 rebounds while scoring 11 points with four blocks.
"We just couldn't get our shots to fall today," commented head coach Matt Houser. "You can't expect to shoot under 30% and win games. We are going to have to bounce back on Wednesday."
CSU was just 22-for-74 (29.7%) from the floor and 5-for-16 (31.3%) from 3-point range. The Lady Cougars posted a 22% (4-for-14) mark in the fourth quarter.Â
Sharale McCormick (16 pts, 10 rebs) and Tori Pearce (12 pts, 12 rebs) both posted double-doubles for the Saints.

The Lady Cougars will look to get back on track on Wednesday, Feb. 9 against Young Harris College. Tipoff is at 5:30 p.m. inside the Lumpkin Center in Columbus.
