DAHLONEGA, Ga. - The Columbus State University women's basketball team lost in the first round of the 2022 NCAA Southeast Regional tournament to 11th-ranked University of North Georgia 63-42 on Friday night inside the Convocation Center.
The Lady Cougars end the season with an overall record of 17-12 and a Peach Belt Conference record of 9-7.
North Georgia had control the majority of the game, outscoring Columbus State in every quarter other than the second. Down 21-10 after the first quarter, CSU went on a run and outscored UNG 13-9 in the second.
Chrisalyn Boston led the Lady Cougars with 10 points, seven rebounds and one steal in her final game for Columbus State. The graduate student shot 5-for-11 from the floor.Â
Alycia Reese scored eight for CSU, including being a perfect 3-for-3 from behind the three-point line and 2-for-2 from the free-throw line.
Senior
Imani Arnold grabbed six rebounds, scored six points and made three steals in her last game for the Lady Cougars.
Amber Abusbeih,
Olonna Rawls and
Jurnee Smith each scored five points.
The Nighthawks (26-3, 16-2 PBC) move to the second round of the Southeast Regional and will play the winner of Wingate University and Carson-Newman.
