Women’s Basketball Set to Host Albany State in Midweek Game

On Tuesday, Nov. 14, the Lady Cougars will play their second home game of the season at the Frank G. Lumpkin Jr. Center against the Golden Rams.

COLUMBUS - After a successful season-opening game against Miles College last week, the Columbus State University women's basketball team will take the court at the Frank G. Lumpkin Jr. Center on Tuesday to take on Albany State University at 5:30 p.m.

The Lady Cougars move to 1-0 overall after defeating Miles College 81-73 in their home opener on Friday, Nov. 10. The team shot for 41% in the field and behind the three-point line, with four Lady Cougars scoring in double-digits.

Letiya Reeves led the offense with 23 points, 12 rebounds, 9 assists, and went 8-9 at the free throw line. Jasmine Rai Stevens shot 71 percent from three-point range, going 5-7 behind the arc and scoring 17 points. Lacy Robins recorded 13 points with 8 rebounds and an impressive 6 blocks on the night. Amber Abusbeih, the fourth Lady Cougar to score in double figures, had 13 points on the night.
