Women's Basketball Returns Home to Face Tuskegee University

The Lady Cougars last non-conference home game will be played Tuesday, Dec. 12 inside the Frank G. Lumpkin Jr. Center at 5:30 p.m.

COLUMBUS On Tuesday, Dec. 12, the Columbus State University women's basketball team will host Tuskegee University at 5:30 p.m. inside the Frank G. Lumpkin Jr. Center for their last home non-conference game of the 2023-24 season. The Lady Cougars are now 2-3 overall following a 46-59 loss against Wingate University on the road on Wednesday, Nov. 29. 

The Lady Cougars are averaging 13.2 steals and 5.4 blocks per game on defense. Senior point guard Amber Abusbeih leads the team with 3.4 steals per game. Letiya Reeves, a sophomore guard, is a threat not just on offensively but also on defense for the Lady Cougars, averaging 1.4 blocks, 3.2 steals, and 5.6 defensive rebounds per game. 

As a team offensively, the Lady Cougars are shooting 35 percent from field goal range, 25.9 percent from the three-point line, and 66.7 percent from the free throw line. Reeves leads the squad, averaging 17.6 points per game and shooting 38.6 percent from the field. Senior guard Olonna Rawls has been a spark for the team after an injury earlier in the season. Rawls averages 11.7 points per game for the Lady Cougars and shoots 45.8 percent from the field. She also leads the team in rebounds, averaging 9 per game.

  • The Tuskegee University women's basketball team is 4-2 overall (2-1 SIAC) and on a two-game win streak
  • As a team, the Golden Tigers average 60.8 points per game and are shooting 39.9 percent from the field and 65.3 percent from the free throw line
  • Junior guard Brittney Bolin leads the team, averaging 13.2 points per game and shooting 37.3 percent from the field 
  • Senior guard Arielle McElroy is right behind her, averaging 11 points per game with 5.7 rebounds and 3.2 assists per game
