DAHLONEGA, Ga. - The No. 21 and fourth-seeded Columbus State University softball team advances in the NCAA Division II Southeast Regional after defeating fifth-seeded Lincoln Memorial University 3-1. CSU improves to 45-14 and LMU falls to 36-24.
With runners on second and third and two outs, Lincoln Memorial got on the board in the top of the first inning with an RBI single up the middle. The Railsplitters maintained the lead until the bottom of the third inning when
Elyse Ambrose ripped a two-out, three-run home run to put CSU ahead 3-1.
Hannah Rose Corbin received the win inside the circle after pitching a complete 7.0 inning game and striking out five, allowing six hits, five walks and one run. Cailtyn Canady led the Cougars on offense with two hits while Ambrose and
Laura Harris each tallied one.
