COLUMBUS – The No. 23-ranked Columbus State University Women's Basketball team is set for a road contest at Tuskegee (Ala.) on Saturday afternoon.
The Lady Cougars (3-1) will take on the Golden Tigers (1-2) on Saturday at 3 p.m. ET in the Daniel "Chappie" James Center in Tuskegee, Ala.
Scouting the Golden Tigers
Tuskegee has opened the season with a 1-2 record, securing a 60-50 win at West Alabama to begin the 2024-25 campaign. Since then, the Golden Tigers took losses at Alabama-Huntsville and against West Florida.
Brittney Bolin leads the way offensively, averaging 16.0 points per game while shooting for 40.9% from the field and 45.5% from beyond-the-arc. She also leads with eight assists and four steals. Hilani Cantone is second in scoring with an average of 11.3 points per game. Jasmine Manuel leads the efforts off the glass with an average of 8.0 rebounds per game.
Chiante Wester is in her second year at the helm of the program, garnering a 15-10 record in her first season. Last season, the Golden Tigers defeated Columbus State in Columbus with a 72-65 victory. However, CSU is 6-2 all-time versus Tuskegee.
Previewing the Lady Cougars
Columbus State returns to play after the bounce-back win at Miles (Ala.) a week ago.
Letiya Reeves remains the top points producer for the Lady Cougars, averaging 14.8 points per contest. She is followed by
Bre'lyn Snipes' average of 11.8 points per game and
Olonna Rawls' average of 11.5.
Rawls also leads the efforts off the boards with an average of 6.8 rebounds per game with
Aaliyah Ferrell second in command with 4.5 rebounds per game.
Kristyn Goshay dishes out an average of 4.3 assists with Rawls recording an average of 3.3.
As a team, Columbus State averages 81.8 points per contest with a scoring margin of 11.5. Defensively, CSU tallies 18.3 steals per game and scores 30.0 points off an average of 20.5 turnovers from their opponents.
