KEARNEY, Neb. - The sixth-ranked Columbus State University women's tennis team lost 1-4 to 14th-ranked Wayne State University in the consolation round on the ITA Division II Indoor National Championship. The Lady Cougars fall to 3-2.
Wayne State won the doubles point and three singles matches to beat Columbus State.
Nikoline Gullacksen was the only Lady Cougar to win a singles match, playing in the #2 spot.
Singles (Order of Finish: 5, 4, 2, 6)
- Mariana Ramirez went into three sets with her opponent until it was unfinished
- Gullacksen won 6-4, 7-6 (7-2)
- Isadora Oliveira went into three sets but did not finish
- Laura Pesickova lost 6-2, 6-0
- Agostina Bigotti lost 6-3, 6-2
- Yelena Labat lost 6-3, 3-6, 6-3
Columbus State will play for 7th place on Sunday at 9 a.m. (8 a.m. CT).
