COLUMBUS - Columbus State University Women's Cross Country is set to begin their season on Friday, September 6th at the GMC Brickyard Invitational, hosted by Georgia Military College.

The Cougars will compete in the 5K race at 5:45 p.m. ET at Council Farms Cross Country Course in Milledgeville, Ga.

Columbus State finished the 2023 season with a 19th-place finish in the NCAA Division II Southeast Region Championship and are returning three runners who ran in the regional. The trio of Alesia Johnson, Meghan Koh, and Zoey Roberts will help lead the Cougars this season as the program's top returners from the postseason while three new faces in Layla Albright, Nazarene Luna, and Anna Petallar join the squad to help bolster the roster.

The Cougars last ran the event hosted by GMC back in 2021 and secured second place as a team. Johnson is the lone returner who competed in the event, finishing in 25th place as a freshman.
