COLUMBUS – Columbus State University Women's Soccer standout
Michelle Medina has been named this week's Athlete of the Week after delivering a breakthrough performance in Peach Belt Conference play.
A native of Flowery Branch, Ga., Medina scored her first goal of the season in the Lady Cougars' 2–0 victory over Flagler College, helping CSU secure an important conference win. The sophomore midfielder, who starred at Cherokee Bluff High School, continues to emerge as a key contributor for the Lady Cougars on both ends of the pitch.
Off the field, Medina is pursuing a degree in Criminal Justice with a minor in Computer Science, balancing academic rigor with athletic excellence.
When asked about the greatest influence on her athletic career, Medina immediately pointed to her grandfather:
"My grandpa, because I'm the only granddaughter, and he always believed in me."
Medina's combination of skill, determination, and family inspiration embodies the spirit of Cougar Athletics, making her a well-deserving recipient of this week's honor.
