COLUMBUS – Redshirt-Freshman Nadea Smith has been named Columbus State University's Athlete of the Week, presented by Chick-fil-A on Macon Road and Manchester Expressway, after putting together a pair of standout performances for the Lady Cougars.

Smith delivered in both matchups, starting with a strong showing against Eckerd on November 19. She poured in 13 points in just 19 minutes, shooting a smooth 5-for-7 from the field and a perfect 3-for-3 at the line, while adding 4 rebounds, 2 assists, a block, a steal, and steady defensive energy.

She followed it up on November 22 against Auburn-Montgomery, dropping 11 points in only 11 minutes on another 5-for-7 shooting night, along with 2 rebounds and a turnover. Her ability to come in, score quickly, and give Columbus State instant offense has been a major boost for the Cougars early in the season.

A Political Science major from McDonough, Ga., and a graduate of Union Grove High School, Smith credits her growth and drive to the biggest influence in her athletic journey:
