MORROW, Ga. – Columbus State women's basketball earned their tenth conference win tonight after defeating Clayton State 71-57.
With this win, the Lady Cougars (16-6, 10-3 PBC) continue to sit in top of the conference while the Lakers (9-14, 6-7 PBC) stay in the lower half.
First Quarter
The Lady Cougars opened the scoring with a lay up a piece from Olonna Rawls and Simone Lett. After a quiet three minutes into the game, the Lakers finally got on the board. The quarter ended 10-9 in favor of the Lady Cougars after a bunch of back and forth play and missed chances. CSU went 3-15 from the field with Clayton State going 4-15.
Second Quarter
The Lakers got their first lead of the game and continued to hold onto it to go up 14-19. Kristyn Goshay splashed her first three pointer of the game with an assist from Rawls to tighten up the score. After falling behind for almost the entirety of the quarter, the Lady Cougars took the lead in the final thirty seconds. Rawls leads the half with eleven points with Lett following with eight points.

Third Quarter
Rawls continued her momentum into the second half by adding the first six points onto the board for Columbus. After a quiet first half, Bre'Lyn Snipes drove into the paint for a lay up to get herself on the stat sheet. Columbus State began to pull further ahead, ending the quarter 50-38.
Fourth Quarter
Columbus State held onto their lead for the remainder of the game after going up twenty points against the Lakers. Aaliyah Ferrell collected her ninth rebound of the game and Olonna Rawls led the way with twenty-seven points. The Lady Cougars sealed their victory with a final score of 71-57.
