After two quick innings of scoreless efforts, the Saints pushed two runs in with a two-RBI double while leaving a pair stranded to take a 2-0 lead. Columbus State managed to respond in the bottom of the fourth inning with a lead-off double from Mary-Catherine Sorrell and a two-RBI homer from Nova Wright.

Flagler gave up back-to-back errors to place two runners on, but CSU left the pair stranded which kept the game at 2-2. The visitors would reclaim control of the lead in the fifth inning, scoring off an RBI groundout and an RBI single for a 4-2 advantage.

Columbus State managed to hold Flagler scoreless for the remainder of the game but continued to struggle offensively. Holly Lynn would go on to record the Lady Cougars' final hit of the game in the seventh as the Saints ran away with the two-run lead for the series sweep.
