Columbus State Welcomes Jeff Baker as Assistant Athletic Director for Sports Medicine

COLUMBUS – Director of Athletics Justin Hay has announced the appointment of Jeff Baker as the newest Assistant Athletic Director for Sports Medicine.

Baker comes to Columbus with a wealth of knowledge as an athletic trainer, coming off a recent stint with Limestone University in South Carolina as Senior Athletic Trainer.

"I am thrilled to have Jeff join the CSU family," Hay said. "Jeff's experience and knowledge of the profession along with his commitment to the student-athlete experience made him stand out in a pool of qualified and talented candidates. We look forward to how he can help serve our student-athletes and elevate Columbus State Athletics."

While at Limestone, Baker covered three programs and oversaw the daily operations of the athletic training room while mentoring assistant ATs in the process. In addition, he helped to develop sports medicine policies and procedures for the institution.

"I am excited for this opportunity to be at Columbus State," Baker said. "I am thankful to Justin and the hiring committee during the entire process. Looking forward to serving the amazing student-athletes here in Columbus."

Prior to his time at Limestone, Baker spent three seasons at the University of Missouri as the Assistant Director of Sports Medicine. While in Columbia, he provided oversight for the Assistant AT for the Cross Country/Track & Field programs.

In addition to his work at Limestone and Missouri, Baker has made stops at Lenior-Rhyne University, Gardner-Webb University, and Palm Beach Atlantic University.
