COLUMBUS — Senior
Marlon Smith of Columbus State University has been named to the Division 2 Conference Commissioners Association All-Southeast Region First Team, recognizing him as one of the top players in the region during the 2025-26 season.
Smith earned the honor following a standout senior campaign in which he started all 30 games for the Cougars and emerged as one of the most productive players in the Southeast Region. The senior averaged 18.1 points and 8.3 rebounds per game, finishing the season with 542 total points and 248 rebounds while playing 988 minutes (32.9 per game).
Offensively, Smith shot 44.3 percent (176-of-397) from the field and 34.4 percent (55-of-160) from three-point range while converting 73.8 percent (135-of-183) of his attempts at the free-throw line. His scoring ability, versatility, and leadership were key components of Columbus State's success throughout the season.
In addition to his scoring production, Smith contributed across multiple statistical categories, recording 51 assists, 57 steals, and 33 blocks while consistently impacting the game on both ends of the floor. His presence on the glass also proved vital, as he led the Cougars with 248 total rebounds, including 29 on the offensive end.
The Division 2 Conference Commissioners Association All-Region teams are voted on by sports information directors across the region and recognize the top performers in NCAA Division II men's basketball. First-team selections advance to the national ballot for consideration for D2CCA All-America honors.
Smith's selection marks another major accolade in a decorated season for the Columbus State standout and highlights his role as a cornerstone of the Cougar program during the 2025-26 campaign.
