AUGUSTA, Ga. — The Columbus State University Men's Basketball program placed two standouts on the Peach Belt Conference postseason honors list, headlined by
Marlon Smith, who was named the Peach Belt Conference Player of the Year and First Team All-Conference selection.
Jordan Mitchell earned Second-Team All-Peach Belt Conference recognition following a strong league campaign.
Marlon Smith – PBC Player of the Year | First Team All-PBC
Smith delivered a dominant season for the Cougars, starting all 28 games and averaging 18.7 points per contest while shooting 45.1 percent from the field and 36.2 percent from three-point range. He totaled 523 points and added 224 rebounds (8.0 per game), along with 49 assists, 32 steals, and 12 blocks.
In conference play, Smith elevated his performance even further. Over 20 league games, he averaged 19.8 points and 8.3 rebounds per game, totaling 395 points. He shot 45.3 percent from the floor and an impressive 39.8 percent from beyond the arc, while converting 74.2 percent at the free-throw line. Smith reached double figures in 18 conference contests and consistently served as Columbus State's primary offensive catalyst.
His all-around impact and consistent production throughout league play earned him the conference's top individual honor.
Jordan Mitchell – Second-Team All-PBC
Mitchell emerged as one of the league's most efficient and versatile forwards during conference play. Starting all 20 league contests, he averaged 12.9 points and 5.5 rebounds per game while shooting a remarkable 53.6 percent (104-of-194) from the field.
He added 25 three-pointers, shot 66.7 percent from the free-throw line, and contributed 31 assists, 23 steals, and 19 blocks in conference action. His defensive presence and ability to score efficiently in the paint and from the perimeter made him a key piece of the Cougars' success throughout the Peach Belt schedule.
Together, Smith and Mitchell played pivotal roles in Columbus State's strong conference performance and postseason positioning, earning well-deserved recognition among the league's elite.
