COLUMBUS, Ga. – Columbus State University Head Men's Basketball Coach Robert Moore is serving as a featured basketball speaker at the 2026 Soldiers To Sidelines Coaching Summit, taking place this weekend at the Nashville Marriott at Vanderbilt University.
Moore will lead a sport-specific session on zone defenses, sharing his knowledge and experience with members of the military community interested in continuing their service through coaching.
"It's an honor to be a speaker at the Soldiers To Sidelines event," said Moore. "Anytime I can share my knowledge and experience in the game of basketball, I cherish the opportunity to represent our CSU Men's Basketball program."
The three-day summit brings together military leaders, coaches, and mentors for coaching development, certification, networking, and mentorship opportunities. The event is free for service members, veterans, military spouses, and Gold Star family members.
Participants will take part in sport-specific breakout sessions, leadership and communication development, sports psychology and performance discussions, and networking opportunities with coaches and mentors from across the country.
The summit's speaker lineup features accomplished leaders from across collegiate and professional athletics, including Notre Dame football offensive coordinator Mike Denbrock, Vanderbilt men's basketball assistant coach Joel Justus, and ESPN college basketball analyst Fran Fraschilla.
Moore is entering his 17th season as the head coach at Columbus State after being named the sixth head coach in program history in April 2010. Across 16 seasons at the helm, he has compiled a 266-184 record for a .591 winning percentage.
Over the past two seasons, Moore has guided the Cougars to a 50-14 record and a .781 winning percentage. Columbus State advanced to the Peach Belt Conference Tournament semifinals and the second round of the NCAA Southeast Regional in both seasons.
Following CSU's 27-5 campaign in 2024-25, Moore was named the PBC Herbert Greene Coach of the Year and the NABC Southeast District Co-Coach of the Year.
