Columbus State University Athletics

Jackson Wedgeworth was named Columbus State’s men’s golf head coach after serving as an assistant coach at University of Alabama at Birmingham during the 2025-26 season. Before UAB, Wedgeworth spent three seasons at Mississippi Gulf Coast, helping lead the Bulldogs to back-to-back NJCAA Division II National Championships in 2024 and 2025.

Wedgeworth also won the 2018 NJCAA Division II National Championship as a player at Mississippi Gulf Coast, earning First Team NJCAA All-America honors. He later competed at North Alabama, where he earned Second Team All-ASUN honors, was a three-time ASUN Golfer of the Week, and won the 2020 Tiger Invitational by Jason Dufner, hosted by Auburn University. Wedgeworth later competed professionally on the All Pro Tour and advanced to U.S. Open Final Qualifying in 2023.
