During the 2026 season, Marissa Frederick helped guide the Columbus State softball program as a Graduate Assistant Coach to a 35-23 overall record and a 20-7 mark in Peach Belt Conference play.

The Cougars advanced to the Peach Belt Conference Tournament semifinals after defeating Augusta and Georgia College and earned a berth in the NCAA Division II Southeast Regional. Columbus State also recorded conference series victories over USC Beaufort, Georgia College, Middle Georgia State, Augusta, Georgia Southwestern, North Georgia, USC Aiken and Lander.
