William Green is entering his fourth year in the Columbus State University Sports Medicine department in the 2024-25 academic year.
Green returns to the Hughston Foundation and Columbus State University as an assistant athletic trainer after working as a graduate assistant from 2018 to 2020, providing athletic training coverage for CSU baseball, cross country/track & field and the club football team.
Prior to his return to the Hughston Foundation and Columbus State, Green served as an assistant athletic trainer for the University of Mount Olive from 2021 to 2022, providing primary coverage to UMO baseball, soccer, men’s/women’s volleyball, golf and basketball. In 2022, he was promoted to Interim Director of Sports Medicine, overseeing the daily sports medicine coverage for the athletic program and supervising fellow athletic trainers.
From 2021 to 2022, Green provided athletic training coverage to the Division II College World Series in Cary, NC at the USA Baseball Training Complex.
A native of Roswell, Ga., he received a bachelor's degree in athletic training from Georgia Southern University in 2018, working with Georgia Southern baseball, football and swimming/diving. In 2020, Green completed his Masters of Science degree from the University of North Georgia and was an athletic training fellow for the Hughston Foundation.
Green has been a member of the National Athletic Trainers’ Association (NATA) and Georgia Athletic Trainers Association (GATA) since 2018. He is certified through the Athletic Trainer’s Board of Certification and is licensed to practice athletic training in the state of Georgia. He is also certified in Personalized Blood Flow Restriction (PBFR) Therapy since 2020.
Green enjoys his free time playing golf, fishing at the beach, and spending time with friends and family in Atlanta and Saint Simons Island.
